The Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce is preparing to publish the next Membership Directory and wants to find its cover photo within the vast talent of local photographers at all levels of experience. To support and show appreciation for the community as a whole, we would be honored to showcase the artistic skills of a local artist on the next directory cover.
The annual Membership Directory contains several editorial pages relating to Chamber of Commerce leadership, history, events, membership details, etc., and a list of the businesses and organizations who are members. 2000+ copies are printed by The Mount Airy News and then distributed to every Chamber member, local leaders, and other local business representatives. The directory is a highly sought-after publication! The winner of this contest will be recognized on the front cover and within the editorial section of the directory.
Contest Details
Please read carefully before submitting a photo.
Rules:
- Photos must be submitted by a local citizen of Surry County or surrounding counties.
- Photos must be photographed by the submitter. Original work only.
- Photo(s) must be free of watermarks
- Contestant must complete the entry form.
- (If applicable) Submitter must provide proof of consent from the people featured in their photo(s).
Suggestions (optional):
- Photographs should be taken within Surry County, NC or surrounding counties (preferred).
- Image could showcase a business who is a member of the Chamber (not required).
- Image could have a general theme of Business, Commerce, Success, Education, and/or Teamwork.
Judging:
The judging panel includes four Chamber of Commerce staff members and the Board of Directors. Submissions will be judged based on how well the images match the criteria listed above, creativity, and uniqueness.

Additional Details:
- By participating in this contest, you agree to have your name, school (if applicable), business name (if applicable, photograph, and potentially a photo of you shared on the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce’s social media, newsletter, newspaper, and the Chamber’s 2023-2024 Membership Directory.
- No participant nor the overall winner will be compensated with funds for their work.
- The Chamber will have rights to use the winner’s image indefinitely.
- The Chamber will add its official logo and the text, “2023-2024 Membership Directory” to the winner’s photo before publication.
